Lots of neighbors could still record that this restaurant location used to be an ice cream store, then it change to Burger restaurant back in the 1980s. Later then it transformed to a Chinese restaurant for more than a decade. It was once a landmark, but the Ying Ying Restaurant was finally went to an end in late 2011. Gordon Chen's family then purchased the business ownership and started out Kung Food in this location working their way from the bottom up. Song Chen, Gordon's Dad, is the cook, he has more than twenty years cooking experience in both of Chinese and Malaysian cuisines, and he was the chef in several Asian restaurants back in China and across Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii in the United States. With limited resouces, Gordon's family have fixed this place with their endless effort and long working hours. Kung Food now continues to offer the neighborhood affordable and yummy American flavored Chinese food.
In 2013 and 2014, Yelp users have voted Kung Food as loved restaurant to eat.
